CreateUser Webpart using Active Directory w/o Forms Auth

All,

Another issue I am facing trying to get this new machine online. We would like to do AD authentication, but use Windows Auth and NOT Forms Auth. Trying to avoid Forms Auth due to client integration and other issues.

I have the web.config setup as specified in the many great documents provided, but can't seem to get it there. I get very close by altering various things, but my latest error is this:

Unable to establish secure connection with the server (C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\<webapplication>\web.config line 73)

Here are the appropriate sections of my web.config file. My goal is to use AD Windows Auth and use the createuser.aspx and changepassword.aspx with the webparts provided on this site to allow adding users to a site via SP. Seems easy enough...

<connectionStrings>
<remove name="ADConnectionString" />
<add name="ADConnectionString"
connectionString="LDAP://mydc.com/Hosted Services,DC=mydc,DC=com" />
</connectionStrings>

<membership defaultProvider="ADMembershipProvider">
<providers>
<add name="ADMembershipProvider"
type="System.Web.Security.ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a"
connectionStringName="ADConnectionString"
connectionUsername="mydc/adminusername"
connectionPassword="asminpassword"
enableSearchMethods="true"
attributeMapUsername="sAMAccountName" />
</providers>
</membership>

Thanks in advance!
